Q) How to request for a tutor?
- You may fill up the request form here.
- We will contact you if there is any clarification required.
- We will inform you if a tutor has been found based on your requirement.
- We will also make arrangement for the first lesson.
Q) How and when do we pay the commission to the agency?
A) The commission is due when half the amount of the lessons agreed for the first month or first 4 week is delivered. The tutor is not allowed to collect on our behalf. The tutor will receive the remaining 50% paid by you. We will provide you with the full details when payment is due. Your payments will be confirmed via SMS/Email.
Q) How do I verify the credentials of the tutor?
A) On the first lesson, you may request for the tutor engaged for the assignment to bring along the necessary documents such as academic results and qualifications for proof and verification.
Q) What if I am unhappy with the services of the tutor? Can I request for a change?
A) Your satisfaction is our priority. We would source for a replacement tutor. However, you will still need to pay for the number of tuition sessions conducted by the tutor prior to the termination, calculated on a pro-rated per session rate.
Q) How much does it cost to register as a private home tutor?

Q) How long does it take to get an assignment?
A) Depending on your tutoring preferences and availability of assignments, we will contact you as soon as there is a suitable assignment. You can also view Tuition Assignments to see if there's any available assignments that you may be interested in.
Q) How will I be informed of assignments?
A) We will inform you via email, or sms if there are suitable assignments according to your preferences and qualifications. After you have applied for an assignment, we will make arrangements if you fulfill the requirements. Upon final confirmation, we will send you a confirmation SMS and e-mail.
Q) How will I be paid?
A) We collect 50% of the first month’s, or first 4 weeks’ tuition fee (not calendar month) as commission from the client. The client/student will then pay you the remaining 50% at the end of the month. Subsequently, you will receive the full fee from the client/student.
Q) How do I prepare for my first lesson?
A) You are required to bring along proof of your necessary certifications, documentations, academic qualifications and NRIC card on your first lesson for verification by the student/ parent. Please also make sure you have the following:
- Full Address/ Venue, Date, Time of the lesson (provided in our Assignment Confirmation email).
- Notes/ Materials that may be useful to carry out the lessons and facilitate the teaching.
- Properly attired (smart casual) and polite.
Q) Do I collect the commission from the client?
A) You are not allowed to collect commission from the client (unless otherwise specified). In the event that the client/student passed you the commission by mistake or otherwise, please inform Singapore Tutors Network immediately.
